Discovering and identifying the names of wildflowers and trees is one of my passions. Like Georgia O’Keeffe before me, I hope viewers will notice and marvel at plants’ beauty the way I do. The Berkshire Early Spring Wildflowers series, based on photographs taken with my Nikon D5200 camera, uses a Japanese style of botanical watercolor painting that I learned while living in Singapore. The “domestic” tree paintings are from a photograph taken along the Charles River in Boston, from the Berkshires, or from my imagination.
